Bolero Dusty Rock Floorboards Installed

Originally we had chosen Bolero Rustic Coffee floorboards but after seeing it in one of the display homes, we thought it looked too plain and there was not enough variation in the colour or patterns. We promptly raised a variation to change to Dusty Rock which is a much lighter brown / grey colour where the grains in the engineered boards shows through more.

So.., I was lucky enough to get home after work today to find the installers still laying the boards. Here's them getting installed!

You will notice in the photos that there's no skirting on the walls. This is because I have elected to do them post handover so that I can avoid having quads next to the skirting. The way that Porter Davis build process works is that they must install the skirting before the floorboards and then the gaps are covered by quads. I'm not letting quads ruin my nice new house so will need to go through the trouble of having them installed and painted later. Wish Porter Davis was a little more flexible in this but understand they have a strict schedule and process to follow. 

Update: Just a little bit of info for those starting out on their builds. Here's a photo of the extra concrete they poured onto the slab to level it in preparation for the floorboards. This is something that you will need to do yourself if you intend to install your own floorboards post handover.
